Ah-Tang and Ah-Yan, both in their early seventies,
are flying to New Zealand to visit Ah-Tang's son Mun-Tsai, who has
even paid the fare for Ah-Yan to keep his father company. Despite
this Ah-Tang never stops complaining.
When they arrive in Auckland Airport, the
son is not there. They soon discover that they were supposed to
change their tickets to arrive several days later as the son was
going to be out of town on a business trip.
Ah-Yan suggests that, rather than wait in
the airport for a few days, they should make their own way to Mun-Tsai's
home. Ah-Tang goes along with the plan reluctantly as they are short
of money.
Through their journey, complicated by the
fact that neither of them speaks very much English, they encounter
a variety of characters and environments. Even a grumpy old man
like Ah-Tang begins to appreciate the new things and people around
them.
