每當我們談及對弱智人士的照顧，往往離不開教育、就業等課題，但是我們有否細意地關懷他們的成長過程遇到的困難，例如與異性交往及自我形象的建立等等。 　　
　「他們也懂得」戲劇部份講述一個輕度弱智女孩的成長過程，同時亦訪問了社會工作者、心理學家、特殊學校老師、弱智人仕及其家長，將他們的專業意見及親身體驗帶給觀眾。

　The mentally handicapped may be slower in their mental development, but their physical and psychological growth are no different from ordinary people's. They need to relate, they need affection and companionship, and they have sexual feelings like the rest of us. However, all these are often overlooked even, or maybe especially, by the people closest to them.
　The programme features a love story of mentally handicapped people. The producer also interviews social workers, psychologists, teachers, parents, and of course, the mentally handicapped people themselves.
