故 事 講 述 木 蘭 得 悉 體 弱 的 老 父 被 召 入 伍 而 擔 心 不 已 ， 由 於 沒 有 兄 長 可 代 ， 她 決 定 隱 暪 自 己 是 女 兒 身 ， 代 父 從 軍 。 經 過 多 年 的 征 戰 ， 木 蘭 不 但 和 同 行 的 將 士 們 結 下 深 厚 友 情 ， 也 因 為 智 勇 雙 全 ， 成 為 了 軍 中 的 將 領 。 在 戰 事 結 束 ， 回 朝 受 封 之 際 ， 她 郤 毅 然 放 棄 官 位 ， 回 家 事 親 。 木 蘭 回 復 女 兒 身 ， 與 昔 日 的 戰 友 見 面 時 ， 他 們 均 感 訝 異 ， 出 生 入 死 多 年 竟 不 知 善 戰 英 勇 的 木 蘭 將 軍 是 女 郎 。

Mulan was very worried because the name of his feeble old father was included in the conscription. Lack of an elder brother to take her father ’ s place, Mulan decided to impersonate as a man to join the army. After years of battles, Mulan won comradeship among fellow soldiers and was promoted a General. At the end of the war, she gave up the award of a high official position at court, in return for a safe return to her home town to take care of her father. When fellow soldiers saw Mulan in her female attire, they were very surprised to discover that General Mulan whom they had fought side by side for years, was a lady!
The dance drama demonstrated traditional Chinese virtues through the unusual adventures and moving story of Mulan. There was filial piety and the spirit of sacrifice for the benefit of others. There was perseverance and persistence in hiding one ’ s identity for years. There was courage and power to protect one ’ s own country and home. There was female wisdom and vision in the giving up of fame and fortune. Mulan was a heroine with moral courage and yet effeminate and intelligent. The dance drama demonstrated the love of peace by the Chinese with an anti-war significance.
