A clearance operation at a
village in Tuen Mun has been
delayed for a further two
weeks, following intervention by
Executive Councillor and Heung
Yee Kuk chairman Lau Wong-fat.
Hours earlier, a potentially
violent clash had been averted
after the villagers obtained a
half-day court injunction
barring the government from seizing their homes. The
site in Tsz Tin village is
needed for a major public
housing project.
