Steelers star ban cut to 4 games

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has had his six-game suspension, imposed following accusations of sexual assault reduced by two games, the NFL said.

Roethlisberger, 28, who won Super Bowls with Pittsburgh in 2006 and 2009, was suspended in April for the first six games of the upcoming regular season without pay although no charges were filed. He was told to undergo a behavioral evaluation as part of his suspension and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ha said he would consider whethe to reduce the suspension to four games.

The league said that Goodell had met with Roethlisberger on Friday to inform him of the reduction.
