The Civic Party is launching a
drive aimed at diluting
political privilege and paving
the way to abolish functional constituencies. The
government will bring
legislation detailing its
political package by the
autumn. After meeting with
Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Stephen Lam, party leader and lawmaker Audrey Eu said
they've begun urging civil
society groups to push for
greater representation, the
merger of existing functional
constituencies, and the right
of all eligible voters to
stand for the five new Legislative Council seats representing the
District Councils.
