Ocean Park has denied rumours
circulating on the internet that
Chinese women have been targeting Western toddlers
for abduction there. The email
details how two women had
attempted to kidnap a young
toddler at the park by
covering him up with a scarf,
but let the boy go after a
passer-by intervened. It also
alleges that security staff
were aware of at least two
abduction attempts over the
past three weeks.
Ocean Park's chairman, Allen Zeman, said that
neither its own security officers or the police had received any such
reports, and dismissed the email as a malicious rumour.
