The Shenzhen authorities have
set up a five million yuan fund,
to reward informers who
provide intelligence on
drug-related offences. People
who call a new hotline with
relevant information could
receive up to 20,000 yuan,
depending on the seriousness
of the offence. Targets
include Hong Kong residents
who use drugs in Shenzhen. The
chairman of the Action
Committee Against Narcotics
in Hong Kong, Professor Daniel Shek, supported the move. He said the government should adopt the same strategy.
