The mainland trial of 10 men who were allegedly part of a plot to
shoot democracy activist
Martin Lee and media mogul
Jimmy Lai has ended after just
one day. The court in Shenzhen
adjourned its verdict to a
later date. Two alleged
masterminds of the plot have
pleaded not guilty to
attempted murder, while the
rest of the suspects have
admitted charges of attempted
wounding. Earlier this month,
the suspected gunman was
sentenced to 16 years in
prison in Hong Kong.
