UN talks on Gaza truce close to stalling

Chances of a UN Security Council resolution on a Gaza ceasefire have receded after new disagreements emerged in New York. Key Arab states and Western powers had apparently agreed on a draft resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. But the talks now appear to have run into real difficulties. Earlier, a UN agency halted aid operations in Gaza citing danger to its workers from Israeli attacks. This came after one person was killed and two hurt when a fork-lift truck on a UN aid mission came under Israeli tank fire at Gaza's Erez crossing.
