| Britain's largest clothing
retailer, Marks and Spencer,
will cut 1,230 jobs by closing
27 stores at home. The company
said it had to cut costs on
the back of its steepest sales
decline in about nine years.
The cost-cutting measure will
save the firm as much as 200
million pounds. The company
said "challenging economic
conditions" were expected to
continue for the next 12
months.
