Women banned from Iraqi shrine

The Iraqi authorities have closed one of the major shrines in Baghdad to women as the religious ceremony of Ashura reaches its climax today. Security forces fear that female suicide bombers might strike on one of the holiest days in the Shia Muslim calendar. There's also heavy security around the Iraqi city of Karbala where shrines to relatives of the Prophet Muhammad are housed.
