Scientists excited over "yeti hair"

26-07-2008 HKT 03:20

British scientists say they're cautiously excited by hair they've been examining which is claimed to belong to an Indian yeti. After preliminary tests, the biologists said that even if it wasn't yeti hair, there was every chance that it came from an unknown species of primate. They said DNA tests should reveal more. The Indian version of the mythical yeti is an ape-like animal about three metres tall, known as mande barung , or forest man. It's believed to live in the jungle in the Garo Hills region of north-eastern India.
