Portsmouth win FA Cup final

Football - a first-half goal saw Portsmouth beat Cardiff, 1-0, and win the FA Cup final for the first time since 1939. The Nigerian striker, Kano, punished a fumble by Cardiff goalkeeper, Peter Enckelman, in the 37th minute, to give manager, Harry Redknapp, his first major trophy in 25 years of coaching. Cardiff's only FA Cup triumph was in 1927.
