Bush's call for more oil output rebuffed

Saudi Arabia has rebuffed a plea from President George Bush for a big increase in oil production to help bring world prices down. The call came as Mr Bush was visiting Riyadh to mark seventy-five years of Saudi-American friendship. In reply, the Saudi oil minister said output had been increased by three per cent earlier this month, and there was no need for a further rise.
