China braces for possible lake bursts

China has warned that a lake
damaged by Monday's earthquake
in Sichuan province may be
about to burst its banks. The
lake is in Beichuan, which is
at the epicentre of the
massive earthquake. Xinhua
news agency said the water
level of the lake was rising
and might burst. Forty-six
seriously injured people
needed to be evacuated
immediately. And reports said
thousands others fled to the
hillsides.
