The police are drawing up guidelines for handling incidents during the Legislative Council elections in September. This was revealed by legislator Emily Lau, who said police had told her the guidelines should be finalised next month. Ms Lau and several pro-democracy politicians met with the Regional Commander for Hong Kong Island, Paul Hung, to express their concern over violence during recent elections. Afterwards, she said the police should take steps to stop any potential trouble during future polls.
