The party of the former Pakistani prime minister, Nawaz Shariff, is expected to consider today whether it will remain a part of the country's newly-elected government. His party's alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party has come under strain over a dispute regarding how best to restore to office dozens of judges sacked by President Pervez Musharraf during emergency rule last November.
