European stock exchanges mixed

European stock exchanges turned in a mixed performance on Wednesday. The London FTSE 100 index edged up 0.08 percent to close at 6,284. In Paris the CAC 40 fell 0.22 percent to finish at 5,497 while in Frankfurt the Dax rose 0.17 percent to 7,837.
