A probe by the Octopus Card
company has found that the
firm had wrongly deducted
3.7-million dollars from its
cardholders' bank accounts
over a seven-year period up
until last year. The company
said more than 15-thousand
transactions were involved,
and those affected will be
reimbursed within ten weeks.
The investigation was launched
earlier this year after
glitches were discovered in
the company's add-value
machines. The Chief Executive
Officer of the company is
Prudence Chan.
