Calm urged during Aborigine trial

A judge in Australia has called for calm during the trial of a policeman accused of the manslaughter of an aboriginal man, who died in police custody. He was found dead in a police cell in November 2004. Initially, the prosecutors said that there was not enough evidence to charge Sergeant Chris Hurley over the death of Mulrungi Doomadgee. The case has pitted the police against the aboriginal community of Palm Island, a small island off the coast of Queensland.
