Legislator, Mandy Tam, has
called on the Chief Executive
to respond to the controversy
surrounding his cousin, Daniel
Heung, who was accused of
converting a warehouse on
government land in Shatin into
a private residence without
the administration's approval.
Mr Heung, who is the former
Chairman of the Committee on
the Promotion of Civic
Education, stepped down from
the post after the controversy
erupted. Speaking on
RTHK's Letter to Hong Kong,
Ms Tam also said it was
outrageous to hear Mr Heung
having described the issue as
a "personal matter". She said
given his professional
background as an architect and
a former member of the Town
Planning Board, his act of
converting the warehouse into
private residence could hardly
be accepted as a case of
oversight or negligence.
