The case of Hong Kong journalist Ching Cheong -- detained on the mainland for alleged spying -- has been handed over to prosecutors. Mr Ching's support group says mainland officials notified his wife, through the S-A-R government, that the case was transferred to the Beijing prosecutors' office on December 30. The Straits Times reporter was accused of spying for Taiwan and has been held on the mainland since April, but has not been formally charged. A spokesman for his support group, Paul Lai, said they've written to all local delegates to the National People's Congress urging help.
