Hello Mr Tao,
In Chinese, ones name is formed by Surname followed by given
name; in English,it is reversed. So, a Chinese whose surname
is, say, Chan and given name Hung. When expressing in English,
he should say \My names Chan Hung or my name is Hung Chan\.
In case of introducing himself to a foreigner, say, British.
If he says \Nice to meet you, Im Chan Hung. Will the British
interpret that his given name to be Chan and surname Hung?

hundred year of solitude 中譯為《百年孤寂》，豈非又為solitude又為loneliness?

I found difficulties in
reading overseas website as many messages posted in the
\forum\ by foreigners are difficult to understand. First,
it contains many words that are not usually used by Hong
Kong people. Second, there are many verb+in/up/on/down/.....etc.
(seem to be \phrasal verb\ but I am not certain about that
because I have never seen them) that are difficult to understand
their meaning. Although I know all these words, when they
link together to form a sentence, then cause me trouble
in understanding them.
How can I solve this problem?

It is my great honour to
have such a chance to ask you a question here.
I am a F.5 student. My English standard is mediocre. However,
composition is comparatively weak. My vocabulary in my mind
is insufficient. For instance, after reading a book, I can
understand all the phrases & vocab in it. But I cant
really get them out from my brain & apply or use in
writing. How can I address this problem?
