3. Television Service

RTHK produces public affairs television programmes which are shown by free commercial television stations. To extend our audience reach, these programmes are also webcast on www.rthk.org.hk and broadcast in different pay television channels.

In 2007-08, the Division will:

• provide necessary technical support to the 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR Celebrations and produce related programmes and cover major celebratory events in 2007;
• produce programmes to promote voters registration and strengthen publicity for District Councils Elections 2007;
• enhance public awareness on the concept of environmental protection through production of programmes to analyse environmental pollution issues;
• continue to support the creative industries, fresh graduates in the production field, and local talents, by increasing opportunities in commissioning educational programmes, drama and documentary productions; and
• nurture the public's appreciation of music, art, and culture through coverage of performances and special topic programmes

The television performance targets for 2007-08 are as follows:
